Who this is for
The visa depends on who the placement is for. What you do during it matters less.
A university requirement
Your course abroad requires a placement, and this one meets it. The institution supplies the paperwork, and C22A covers it.
Skills development at a workplace
An office or a plant is training you and supplies the paperwork. C22B covers it, on the same 180 days.
A company placing someone
You are the Indonesian host. Tell us what the placement is for and we name the visa.
A placement that may run long
Both visas are extendable, inside Indonesia, with their own processing time. Plan the extension at the start.

Initial assessment
Send your nationality, what you will do in Indonesia and your dates. We reply with the visa that fits. If the case is outside what we handle, the reply says so. The first assessment is free.

Scope and price in writing
Before you pay, you get the document list, the price for your term, a timing estimate with its assumptions, and what we will not do.
- 03
Document check
We check each document against the current requirement for your visa. You get a list of anything to fix, and you fix it before we lodge.

Lodging and follow up
We lodge the application and track it. If immigration asks for more, we send you the request and what to do about it. Extensions and renewals go through the same contact.
What you will usually need
An internship file has two halves: yours, and the host’s. The host’s half is usually the slower one.

- Passport with enough remaining validity
- Recent photograph to the current specification
- Curriculum vitae, and your academic record for an academic placement
The host in Indonesia
- Acceptance letter from the company or institution
- Company registration of the host
- A description of the placement and what you will be trained in
Supporting
- Letter from your university, where the placement meets its requirement
- Where you will stay, and proof of funds for the period
Immigration judges the visa against the placement description, so we help you write it in the terms immigration uses.
Timing
Two clocks, and the host’s is usually the slower. For a placement that starts in September, open the file in July.
Estimates assume a complete file. If the host side stalls, we send you a revised date.
Internship questions
- What is the difference between C22A and C22B?
- Who the placement is for. C22A is an internship that meets an academic requirement abroad; C22B is skills development at the workplace hosting you. Both run up to 180 days and both are extendable.
- Can I be paid during the placement?
- An internship visa is not a work visa, and being paid for work is what separates them. Tell us the arrangement and we tell you whether it belongs here or under a work visa.
- Does the host company need to be a particular size?
- No size is set, but the host must be a registered Indonesian entity that can document the training. We check its documents before you start on yours.
- Can the 180 days be extended?
- Yes, both visas are extendable. The extension is done inside Indonesia with its own processing time, so start it well before the 180 days end.
- What does it cost in total?
- The price of the visa on its page for the term you choose, plus any third party costs named in your quote.
