Coming to Indonesia

Family visas for Indonesia, by who the Indonesian side is.

Nine visas, set by who sponsors you and how you are related. All run one or two years, with free entry and exit.

Family

Who this is for

It turns on the relationship, the sponsor, and whether you are visiting or moving here.

Visiting relatives

A trip with a return date. Usually a visit visa, with a family member as sponsor.

Spouse of an Indonesian citizen

Living here needs a stay permit, not a visit visa. The marriage documents carry the file.

Dependants of a permit holder

Joining someone with a work or investor stay permit. Their permit usually comes first.

Parents or extended family

Fewer relationships qualify than people expect. We check yours before you gather documents.

Scope

What we do, and what we do not.

Both lists go into your written scope, word for word.

What we do

  • Name the visa that matches your activity
  • Check your documents against the current rules
  • Prepare and lodge the application
  • Track it and tell you when its status changes
  • Handle extensions and renewals for visas we lodge
  • Work in English, Bahasa Indonesia or Chinese
  • Refund our service fee if an application we filed is refused

What we do not do

  • Guarantee an outcome. Immigration decides
  • Give legal advice. If you need a lawyer, we say so
  • Act as a government agency. You can apply directly through official channels
  • Issue documents we are not authorised to issue
  • Advise on tax residency or company accounting
How it works

Four steps, each one in writing.

  1. 01

    Initial assessment

Send your nationality, plan and dates. We name the visa that fits. The first assessment is free.

  2. 02

    Scope and price in writing

Before you pay: the document list, your price, a timing estimate and what we will not do.

  3. 03

    Document check

We check each document against the current rules. You fix anything flagged before we lodge.

  4. 04

    Lodging and follow up

We lodge, track and pass on any request from immigration. Extensions go through the same contact.

What you will usually need

Relationship and sponsor documents, several of which need a sworn translation or legalisation.

Applicant

  • Passport with enough remaining validity
  • Recent photograph to the current specification

Relationship

  • Marriage certificate, birth certificate or equivalent
  • Sworn translation where the document is not in Indonesian
  • Legalisation where the issuing country requires it

Sponsor

  • Sponsor identity documents
  • Sponsor address and status in Indonesia
  • Sponsor letter in the required form

Translation and legalisation are third party costs and often the slowest step. We tell you which documents need them.

Timing

A family case usually waits on documents, not on immigration.

Initial assessment Same or next working day
Translation and legalisation Often the longest single step
Sponsor documents Depends on the sponsor in Indonesia
Immigration processing Range confirmed for your visa at quote time

Documents held in another country are the usual cause of delay. Tell us about them at the start.

FAQ

Family questions

My spouse is Indonesian. Which visa is that?
E31A, a stay permit sponsored by your spouse, built on the marriage documents and your spouse’s ID.
Can I work on a family visa?
Permission to live here is not permission to work. If you intend to work, say so and we cover both.
Do my documents need translating?
Usually, if they are not in Indonesian, and some also need legalisation. Both are third party costs, named in your quote.
Which relatives count as family for this?
Spouses, children (including stepchildren and adopted children of a citizen), parents, and siblings of a permit holder. It differs by visa, so we check yours first.
