Coming to Indonesia

Investor visas for Indonesia, with free entry and exit.

E28A covers investment, plus tourism and visiting family, with free entry and exit while the stay permit is valid. The file rests on the shareholding and the capital, so the company comes first.

The business plan comes before the visa.

Investor cases go wrong when the company is structured to fit a visa instead of the business. What you will build, who owns it and what you will do in Indonesia each change the answer, so we ask about all three before any application.

Investment

Who this is for

Investor visas are for people putting capital into a business here. They are not a general long stay option.

Founders setting up

You are forming a company in Indonesia and need the ownership structure and your own permit to fit together.

Investors in an existing company

You are putting capital into a business that already operates here, and need to know what that entitles you to.

Directors and shareholders

A position in an Indonesian company changes the visa, including whether the company may pay you.

Still deciding

You have not yet decided whether to invest here. The first assessment is free and can rule out a structure before you pay a notary for it.

Scope

What we do, and what we do not.

Both lists go into your written scope, word for word.

What we do

  • Name the visa that matches your activity
  • Check your documents against the current requirement
  • Prepare and lodge the application
  • Track it and tell you when its status changes
  • Handle extensions and renewals for the visas we lodge
  • Work in English, Bahasa Indonesia or Chinese
  • Refund our service fee if an application we filed is refused

What we do not do

  • Guarantee an outcome. Immigration decides
  • Give legal advice. If your case needs a lawyer, we tell you
  • Act as a government agency. You can apply directly through official channels
  • Issue documents we are not authorised to issue
  • Advise on tax residency or company accounting
  • Advise on tax residency, accounting or company valuation. Those need a qualified specialist, and we tell you when you need one
How it works

Plan first, company second, permit third.

  1. 01

    Understand the plan

The business, the capital, the ownership and what you will do here. We need all four before naming a visa.

  2. 02

Match the company to the visa

We explain how the common structures, including PT PMA, connect to the permit options, and where you need a notary, lawyer or accountant instead of us.

  3. 03

    Prepare and lodge

We assemble and check the documents, lodge the application and track it, keeping the company side and your personal side in step.

  4. 04

    Maintain

Renewals and changes to your position in the company both affect the permit, so we plan them in advance.

What you will usually need

An investor file has personal documents and a company set. The company set usually takes longer.

Applicant

  • Passport with enough remaining validity
  • Recent photograph to the current specification
  • Curriculum vitae and background relevant to the role

Company and investment

  • Company deed, registration and licence documents
  • Shareholding and ownership structure
  • Evidence of the investment plan or capital
  • Your position in the company

Supporting

  • Sworn translations where documents are not in Indonesian
  • Legalisation where the issuing country requires it

If the company does not exist yet, the order of work changes. Tell us in the assessment and we plan the sequence around it.

Timing

Company formation and legalising documents take far longer than the immigration step.

Initial assessment Same or next working day
Company formation, if needed The longest step by a wide margin
Document legalisation Depends on where documents were issued
Immigration processing Range confirmed for your visa at quote time

A short timeline for an investor case that includes forming a company only covers the immigration step.

FAQ

Investor and PT PMA questions

What is PT PMA?
The Indonesian company form for foreign investment. Whether it suits you depends on your sector, ownership and plan, so we discuss the structure before the permit.
Does investing give me the right to live in Indonesia?
Not automatically, and not in every structure. The investment and the stay permit are connected, but each has its own requirements.
Can I work in my own company?
Holding shares and being allowed to work are different things, and a director title does not settle it on its own. Tell us what you will do day to day.
Do you handle the company formation as well?
We handle the immigration side and tell you where a notary, lawyer or accountant is required. We do not act as any of them.
What about second home or golden visa routes?
The second home visa, E33, rests on a deposit or a property, and is on the retirement and second home page. For anything newer, ask in the assessment and we tell you what is open now.

Tell us what you are coming here to do.

Send your nationality, your plan and rough dates. We reply with the visa, its price and the documents it needs. The first assessment is free.
